The parade

WHEN IS CORSO ZUNDERT?

Every year, Corso Zundert is being held on the first Sunday of September. In 2024 the parade will be on Sunday 1 September. On Monday 2 September the floats will be displayed on the CLTV-auction terrain in Zundert.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

To visit the parade on parade Sunday, you will need at least an entrance ticket for the parade. This allows you to watch the parade from the roadside. If you would like to watch the parade from a grandstand, you will need a grandstand ticket in addition to the entrance ticket. Children up to 13 years old have free entry, but they will have to pay for a grandstand place.

You can buy these tickets in presale or at the box office. The pre-sale of grandstand tickets always starts at the beginning of April. The sale of grandstand tickets always starts at the end of May / beginning of June. For all information and pre-sales, please look under Tickets

Residents of the municipality of Zundert have free entry. To this end, you must be able to show a valid proof of identity (passport or driving license) at the entrance, proving that you live in the municipality of Zundert. If you do not have such proof of identity, you can go to the corso counter in advance with proof that you live in the municipality of Zundert, e.g. a recent invoice from your energy supplier.

WHAT TIME DOES THE PARADE START?

The parade starts at 01:30 PM at the exhibition grounds. Through the Molenstraat the floats ride across the streets of Zundert. On the page Parade you can find a map of the route and the times at which the floats will about pass.

WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

If you’re coming to Zundert by car, you will automatically pass signs and traffic controllers who will guide you to the different parking places. All parking places are at walking distance from the corsoroute. Parking costs 3 euros. For more information, see the accessibility page.

I’M INFIRM, CAN I GET CLOSE TO THE ROUTE?

There are two options:

1. You can use a specially equipped wheelchair space set up in Molenstraat for this purpose. Click here for more info.

2. You can watch the parade anywhere along the route. If you come with your own transport, please place your European universal disabled card visibly in front of the window. We strongly advise you, if you wish to use the disabled car park, to arrive from Breda on the N263 via Rijsbergen. Here you will come across the traffic control post closest to the disabled car park and – if your European disabled person’s parking card is visible – you can drive through it to the car park. Afterwards, you will still encounter the access control on your way to the parade. Further info on this via this website or the corso desk (see this link for more information).

CAN I GET TO THE ROUTE WITH MY BICYCLE?

Yes, this is possible. Outside of the route there are two guarded bicycle parkings. The locations of these parkings you can find on the accessibility page.

WILL THE PARADE BE BROADCAST LIVE ON TELEVISION?

Yes, Corso Zundert will be broadcast live on Omroep Brabant. At 02:00 PM the broadcast will start, filmed from the main stand. At approximately 04:30 PM you can see the prizes get announced live on television.

CAN I STAY IN ZUNDERT OVERNIGHT?

If you’re planning a multi-day visit to the Corso or if you’re looking for a place to fully unwind after the parade, there are various great places in and near Zundert to stay at. Take a look at the possibilities here.

It is also possible to stay overnight in Breda or surrounding places. For more information, see www.vvvzundert.nl

WHAT ARE THE SPEAKERS ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE FOR?

There are two types of loudspeaker systems along the route from the organisation.

First, there is the public address system which is rebuilt along the entire route every year. This system is used as an emergency public address system. This allows us to reach all visitors present along the route of the parade in case of emergency. Prior to the parade, you will hear background music through this system.

There are also several annouchment points along the route where you can listen to all the background information of the passing designs. There is a considerable distance between these points to create ‘quiet areas’, where there’s room for hamlets to present themselves with sound if necessary.

So when you want to enjoy our announcers, make your way to a designated annouchment point. That way you can be sure you will get all the information.

WHERE DO THE FLOATS GO AFTER THE PARADE?

After the parade the floats go to the exhibition grounds (the CLTV-auction terrain at the Molenstraat). Here the floats will be exhibited from Sunday evening until Monday evening. When darkness falls, the floats will be illuminated by lights.

WHAT HAPPENS TO THE FLOATS AFTER CORSO ZUNDERT?

All the floats will be destroyed on Tuesday. With a big crane and different gripping machines the floats will be brutally demolished and put in containers. All that will be left over are videos, photographs and memories.

Building the floats

WHERE ARE THE FLOATS BUILT?

Every hamlet builds their own float in their own corsotent. Across Zundert there are nineteen building tents. The building tent of hamlet Schijf is located in the municipality of Rucphen.

ARE THE TENTS FREELY ACCESSIBLE?

Yes, the building tents are freely accessible for everyone if the builders are working on their float. Mostly in the evenings, but sometimes during the day, a big or small group of people are working on the floats. In the months of June, July and August every workday building starts at 07:00 PM. On Saturday building starts at 09:00 AM until 04:00 PM and in August also on Sunday. There’s also a tour behind the scenes, see this page.

IS EVERYONE ALLOWED TO HELP?

Yes, everyone is allowed to help with the building of the floats. At every hamlet you are more than welcome to have a look and help with the build.

HOW ARE THE FLOATS BUILT?

The floats are being built with steel and concrete iron. The steel construction forms the basis for the concrete iron that is pleated into different shapes. The concrete iron forms the basis of seven layers of papier-maché. This is the basis on which the flowers will be attached in the last weekend. For more detailed pieces builders use tempex.

WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF BUILDING A FLOAT?

The exact costs for each float is different. The floats are entirely build by volunteers, so no money is wasted on man hours. However, for the material, the flowers, the accommodates, the tent and the food and drinks the hamlet have to pay themselves.

WHERE DO ALL THE FLOWERS COME FROM?

The dahlias used for Corso Zundert are grown by the hamlets themselves. Across Zundert there is around 40 hectare of flower fields, just for the corso. The hamlets maintain these fields themselves.
