Hamlet Stuivezand wins Corso 2026

‘You can stop!’ was the call heard by the hamlet of Stuivezand. Their float ‘The Sea As a Mirror’ emerged as the winner of this anniversary edition of the world’s largest Corso. On Sunday September 6 Corso Zundert celebrated its 90^th anniversary. Chairman John Vriends is proud: “The Corso reaches the respectable age of 90 years but flourishes as never before. The creations that passed by today are proof that innovation and evolution never stop here in Zundert. Year after year I am surprised by all the creativity and shared passion that can be found in our Corso. Again it was truly special!”

The audience in Zundert enjoyed the 20 giant Corso floats passing through the streets. The expert jury selected the following top 3. In first place hamlet Stuivezand with their float ‘The Sea As a Mirror‘. In second place hamlet Laer-Akkermolen with their float ‘Sandraudiga – Rooted in Zundert’ and hamlet Molenstraat with their float ‘Yes, No’ in third place. First place of the people’s choice award went to hamlet Klein Zundert.

The Corso floats left their construction sites early Sunday morning to take their places at the exhibition grounds. The parade started at 1.30 pm. The entire event could be watched live on television thanks to the broadcast of Omroep Brabant. The spectators from Zundert and further away visibly enjoyed the event along the parade route. When the parade passed Corsoboulevard for the second time Stuivezand experienced the “Zundertse jubel” of 2026. This marks an emotional release of joy and fatigue from builders, young and old alike. The hamlet could stop and received first prize from Saskia Boelema, Provincial Executive Member of Noord-Brabant.

In the evening of Sunday 6 September and on Monday 7 September (until 10 pm) you can visit the exhibition grounds where all floats are on display. Admission to the exhibition grounds is € 7 (free for children ages 12 and under).
